Energy Saving Bulbs



The government is to distribute 1.25 million energy saving bulbs for free under the new energy conservation programme. The initiative which is estimated to cost a whopping 460.7 million shillings is expected to reduce power demand and help save the country 60 megawatts of electricity during peak hours.

    It’s a first step, but the same should be encouraged with appliances, because some energy saving ones use up to 2/3 less electricity.
