In fact, the oldest continually settled city in the world, Damascus, was for 7,000 years the natural western terminus of the fabled Silk Route to the Orient. Merchants from Egypt and north into modern Turkey or west into Greece would have gathered at Damascus, which had valley routes past burning deserts and high mountain passes all the way to China. The recent news that China has overtaken America as the great polluter of our dear mother earth is worse news that we would think. The recent color world map of CO2, shows in red the worst coal carbon emissions into the air, from the Royal Netherlands Geographic Institute. This map shows, for the first time clearly to see, how the dispersal of red hot factory or nuclear or oil refinery sites around the world light up red. China is the CO2 horror smoke breathing dragon, as it’s concentration of red hot on the map shows what we see on the ground through the cameras now open to the west.  Read more... Chinese antiques arrived in the west to awe and great admiration, and eventual copies. As the Ming vase appearance of blue and white “bone China” pottery came to England, the initial English versions created by Josiah Wedgewood Bone China would have been offered to the Queen. As Queen Victoria took to articles of Chinese antiques, this interest followed on down through the ranks of nobility, until Wedgewood became vastly rich by making such fine China available to the public in a relatively modest smoke burning factory in England.  Read more... Healthy lifestyles on earth, worst of all in modern coastal China, seems to be getting beyond the capability of many corners of our good mother earth. Most recent digital images in geographical magazines show the red hot zones on earth, that is the most blazingly polluted. China is by far the most polluted country on earth. In contrast, the air of India is still cleaner that the air of Europe or America east of the Mississippi.
